Although it’s only nine miles from downtown, there’s no mistaking PWP for an urban park. The grounds around the main entrance look more like an English estate than a public park, or rather, they look like the grounds of an English estate would look if the owners invited hoards of strangers to visit their property. But then, parks are designed to fit the communities they’re in, and Percy Warner Park is located in Nashville’s most formal (and most expensive) neighborhood – Belle Meade. It’s by no means just a neighborhood park though; folks come from near and far to take advantage of all PWP has to offer.
We moved to the Rio Verde foothills, just north of Scottsdale, out towards the cowboy towns of Cave Creek and Carefree. They say that this is the “last frontier”, and when you come over the hill into our valley, you believe it. It’s an amazing view with a surprisingly green valley, green, blue and red mountains of the Tonto National Forest to the north and the east, Four Peaks being the most recognizable. When the sun is setting it makes the mountains look surreal, like they’re a painted backdrop to the skies above them. It is a sight that takes your breath away and makes us grateful to be where we are.
Public Garden The Garden is essentially an extension of the Boston Common, the 45-acre park in front of the State House. The Public Garden, 25 acres in size, was built upon landfill in 1857 and was meant to represent the more genteel side of Boston society. Today, it’s a lovely garden sanctuary within a busy and crowded city. Technically, an open-air botanical garden, it hosts hundreds of different varieties of trees and plant-life, as well as the world famous Swan Boats, a 19th Century concession consisting of wooden paddle boats and adorned with large acrylic swans. The Garden is a popular place for wedding photos, joggers, and brown-baggers. At the west entrance, there is the famous equestrian statue of George Washington by Thomas Ball, which dates to 1869.
Willie mentioned at the end of the show how important it is to the Robertson men to make their wives happy. That is quite the statement coming from a bunch of bearded duck hunters. However, maybe that is the secret to a happy marriage. Let’s take a look at how they actually did that throughout this episode.
After repeating this exercise for several weeks you should notice an improvement in your horses suppleness and in his ability to ride either direction easily.
The kids were thrilled that they could have the color they wanted and decorate it with a futurity knot brow, Aztec design overlay, or a different color overlay. There was a size to fit the smallest pony, or mustang and the best Quarter Horse. They come in Mini to Draft sizes and with a selection of reins too.
So one of my running friends says: “Who the heck is Caesar Rodney anyway?” I think he had him confused with Sid Caesar (a comedian best known in the 1950s and 1960s) or even Little Caesars, the pizza delivery chain.
